Shall I Go or Should I Stay?

That’s the burning question of the day! Who wrote that song, anyway!

My house sitting calendar is filling up through mid-June and I have to decide whether to stay in California or go overseas for a while. And if I decide overseas, where would I choose to go?

It’s very easy here in California. I know my way around, I speak the language and I have friends and family here, which makes a huge difference to me. But given that I have the opportunity to go to different countries, it seems silly not to take advantage of it.

I’ve never really had a huge longing to go to Europe and I know I don’t want to go to England, I don’t have real fond memories of there. I love tropical places and third-world countries and will avoid the cold at all costs! Even Southern California gets colder than I want to be. But a lot of places with the climate I love are not English speaking! And that’s a problem for me, having never learned a second language other than Afrikaans! And although I read about single women traveling safely in third-world countries, which I used to do, I don’t know if I’m up for it now.

Several areas do ring my bell though; Belize which I love, the Cook Islands and other South Pacific islands, South Africa of course, and perhaps up into Mozambique although I haven’t seen any house sits there.

This is when I wish I had a traveling companion or partner (but probably the only time!) as it’s definitely a lot more fun to plan and scheme with someone else. It becomes much more of an adventure, than just another move.

And once I decide on an area/country, it makes sense to stay for as long as any visa allows, to avoid too many airfares. It’s time to put out feelers for various places.

On the current home front and the current challenge I am working on, I’m slowly making headway. I really got hung up in some of the technical setup pieces and had to contact various support people to help me through. But I think I did it and the proof will be when the funnel goes live and everything works.

There’s still a lot to do, and I know I won’t make it within the deadline, but I’m ok with that. I think that the challenge was definitely focused more on people who have had some experience with funnels, not newbies like me. And from the comments I am seeing, I am not alone! I’m looking forward to the launch.
