These are the steepest, longest stairs I think I have ever climbed. They call it 1000 stairs but it’s actually 217! That according to a couple of kids who ran by me. I certainly didn’t have enough breath left to do any counting And was extremely grateful for the landings in between every 20 or so steps.

Oh the humpies we saw! At one stage, we were surrounded by the humpback whales, as they cruised around and under the Passing Cloud, which was a bit scary! Eapecially as the wheel began to turn, which meant they were bumping up against the rudder. But it was amazing to be so close to these enormous creatures.
